Grandma's Elderberry Immune Support
This class will teach you all about how to make your very own organic elderberry syrup.
INGREDIENTS:
2/3 Cup Dried Elderberries
3 Cups Spring Water
2 T Fresh Sliced Ginger
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 tsp Cloves
1 Cup Local Raw Honey
Make It Like So:
Place elderberries, water, ginger, cinnamon and cloves in a pot. Stir in 1 cup of honey. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes to one hour.
Remove from heat and using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, strain out mixture. Transfer liquid to a glass jar, let liquid come to room temperature.
Keep in the fridge sealed for up to 2-3 weeks.
There is no standard dose of elderberry, I enjoy 1 T up to four times a day during flu season. Some enjoy elderberry syrup every day as elderberry has many health benefits. For more information on elderberries and their benefits please see the wonderful article below.
*You can add 1 tsp of cayenne for extra heat. (spicy)

Watermelon is a great seasonal fruit for the summer that has many benefits including high water content & fiber; keeping you hydrated and full. Did I mention watermelon has a few vitamins & minerals too. Watermelon's will provide you with vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, magnesium, vitamin b1, b5, & b6. Watermelon can also help your body make collagen a protein that keeps your skin supple & hair strong.
Aloe Vera is amazing too. Aloe has been used as a digestive aid for several thousand years. Aloe naturally contains over 200 biologically active components like vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, minerals, and perhaps most importantly: polysaccharides. The polysaccharides found in Aloe not only help to reduce high levels of toxins but by doing so, assist in increasing nutrient absorption by transporting nutrients from your foods to the body. Aloe is also a great source of immune support. Aloe is able to help stimulate the white blood cells in your body that act as your natural defense system against stressors like seasonal allergies. Adding aloe to your daily regimen can have a positive impact on your overall immune health throughout the year. Aloe vera also contains antioxidants that belong to a family of substances called polyphenols. Antioxidants help protect the lining of the gut by supporting the cells in the stomach. They also help produce good bacteria and limit inflammation.

Prep your pie crust for the season and know your ingredients.
This pie crust is delicious, flaky, and easy to make.
1 1/2 CUPS UNSALTED BUTTER (12 oz)
2 1/3 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2 1/4 tsp KOSHER SALT
1 CUP ICE WATER (3 T at a time) use only what you need.
Cut up your butter into little 1/2 inch cubes and place in a bowl and into the freezer for 20 minutes.
At the same time you put your butter in the freezer, put your water in there too. This gets everything really cold. We're working with butter and the colder your ingredients the better.
Meanwhile prep the flour and salt and pull out your food processor.
In your food processor mix together the flour and salt.
Pull out butter and water from the freezer and slowly add the butter to your food processor, pulse butter into flour mixture slowly.
Flour and butter should begin to look like sand, pieces of flour and butter start to mesh together.
DO NOT fully pulse to perfection. Pulse until flour no longer looks like flour, it will look like pieces of butter.
Essentially the flour is encapsulating the butter. This creates a delicious flaky crust everyone will go nuts over.
At this point you will now add 3T of water and pulse just to bring the pie dough to the finished consistency. Still looking somewhat like "pieces of sand," but pieces of flour and butter.
Now add water until it just comes together, then stop. DO NOT add to much water. Do NOT over mix together. Dough should still look like pieces. The dough should look like pieces and you will end up pushing the dough together carefully with your hands.

Get plastic wrap and flour to spread over the area where you will be creating a circle brick. Use flour to create a circle brick then place circle brick dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes in the fridge dough is ready and you can now roll out your dough with a rolling pin. Barely touch the dough so it does not melt. Use plastic wrap, flour, and a rolling pin. (See Video for Smaller Individual Pies.)
Once you have rolled out your dough you can carefully place the dough in a pie dish. Then gently mold the dough to the dish, then pinch the top to create a good old fashioned pinched crust look.
Fill pie crust with your choice of filling savory or sweet.
Brush the crust with a beaten egg.
BAKE at 350 degrees until golden brown.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Homemade Italian Focaccia Bread, this recipe is a twist on the usual flat focaccia bread you may normally see in stores. It's an easy and delicious recipe to make too, I know you're just going love it!
The use of high-quality ingredients can help in making you feel good. Making your own breads can be super intimidating. But I'm here to tell you it's easy, it's an arm workout, and you know your ingredients which is a huge plus in my book. You can take the most basic ingredients such as flour, for instance and make something so important such as bread.
When it comes to something so simple, the distinguishing elements lie in the quality of the ingredients. I love knowing every ingredient in my recipes and feeling good after I eat them.
Bread is an item purchased weekly in many homes. If you can make a few batches ahead of time you will end up saving money, knowing your ingredients all while getting an arm work out with the focaccia bread. The other great thing about this bread is that you you can freeze it for up to a month. This makes it nice so you don't have to make bread every week.
Focaccia (pronounced "fuh-KA-cha") is a type of Italian yeast bread normally baked in flat sheet pans. I have decided to create Focaccia Rolls. Focaccia dough is flavored with olive oil and can be garnished with herbs and other seasonal vegetables, have fun and get creative!
Focaccia is a pretty hardy bread, by making rolls they're pre portioned and can be sliced in half and used for making sandwiches. I love making breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and even dinner sliders. They can also be a tasty addition to a bread basket or even paired with a bowl of soup or a salad.
Because of the high olive oil content in the dough, it won't go stale as quickly as other types of bread. You can also wrap and freeze your bread to pull it out as needed.
Overall this bread is phenomenal and worth making. Enjoy!
This is one of my favorite bread recipes!
Ingredients:

First take 2 cups of water and put it in the microwave for 1 minute.
Pour warm water into a KitchenAid bowl/mixer. Add 1 packet of fast rise yeast and 1 T sugar, gently stir and cover with a towel for 5 minutes.
Now prep flour, olive oil, and salt.
After 5 minutes combine yeast mixture and flour mixture in the KitchenAid bowl mix together with the dough hook for 10 minutes.
Transfer dough to oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for 1 hour.
Turn the dough out onto an oiled surface, portion (2 oz per portion, or just eyeball), press and roll. Try to have even portions so that they can bake evenly together. Put your focaccia rolls on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Garnish: Brush Olive Oil on each roll, Kosher Salt & Pepper. Cover and let them sit for another hour.
Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Everyones oven is different so just keep an eye on the way they look, and recognize the smell. When you start to smell fresh bread being baked it's close to being done. Let the rolls cool completely before eating.
Enjoy!
